National People’s Power meets the Cardinal

(-Colombo, April 13, 2024-)

Presenting the NPPs Pledge for justice to the victims of the terrorist attack on April 21, 2019 (Easter Sunday), to the Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Ranjith happened today (18) in the morning at 11.00 a.m. at the Borella Archbishop’s official residence under the leadership of the leaders of the NPP.

The National People’s Power government will implement the law properly to provide justice to the lives lost in the brutal suicide bomb attack on 21 April 2019 (Easter Sunday) by a group of extremists targeting Catholic and Christian worshippers, and the family members who were helpless due to that attack. The pledge document includes 07 main points which emphasise that proper legal action will be taken against those who are directly or indirectly involved in the attack.

Prof. Krishantha Abeysena, lawyer Sunil Watagala, President’s lawyer Upul Kumarapperuma, senior lecturer Rohan Fernando and Aruna Shantha Nonis participated in this meeting representing the National People’s Force.
