I have very little experience in politics and this is the first time I communicate directly with a political party. I consider my self as a patriotic citizen and have always contributed in whatever field I could. I observe with interest the journey you have taken so far. I would however like you to consider following in your communications. 1. How will you manage the current economic situation now that country has committed to a certain programme with many stake holders. 2. How will you integrate us with the global supply chains so that we become a significant player in the world. 3. It is a no brainer that we must leverage the Indian growth trajectory. What is your position and strategy for that. 4. The core of your political movement is the JVP and that party is responsible for a large number of loss of youth and destruction of property. May be due to certain realities at that time. Yet I cannot condone violence as means to an end. I have personal experiences of this. Why cannot as a modern and free thinking political organization tender a genuine sincere apology for those acts. I do not see it as letting down of your members who laid their lives for the betterment of the country. But there were many who suffered in the hands of the cadres who were involved in those struggles. Burnt public properties, jobs lost and lives lost. Such an apology will only enhance your image as a sincere organization. 5. What is your movement's understanding of the global realities and how you intend to navigate our foreign policy. There is very little we hear of this area thus it gives the perception that you are very narrow in focus and lacking the sophistication needed to handle the complex global trends and power dynamics.
Thank you for your queries and we appreciate your interest and complimenting on our journey . Here are the answers to your concerns . 1. The crust of the prevailing problem is we didn't have sufficient dollar inflows to the country to meet our essential requirements. Our strategy is to ensure that the existing inflows become sustainable and to bring in new channels to enhance the reserves. We believe in sustainable growth and fair distribution of benefits. We make sure that no hazel, unnecessary delays or wrong doing in calling FDIs. We will revisit the IMF programme and ensure that our governance in all sectors prevail to the book. We are prepared to navigate the path patiently and carefully so that we can overcome the problems. 2. We are already integrated to the global supply chain in some sectors though not sufficiently. We will enter into suitable trade agreements which can ensure a win-win position to the country. Our diplomatic service will play a bigger role in this regard. We will have at least a few selected products and services that will be connected to the global supply chain and will also find new opportunities for integration which may bring in much required forex inflows. 3. We understand the importance of India and its economic boom. We will ensure that economic and other relations with India will be further strengthened while maintaining relations with all SAARC countries. We believe that regional cooperation and mutual understanding of interests of all parties will ensure better relationship. 4. I am sorry our party leadership has delivered public apology not just once but in many occasions with regard to 87/89 riots . On stage, in the media and even in the parliament. However , have you ever heard that the other party, then UNP government and particularly Ranil Wickramasinghe who is directly responsible for maintaining torture chambers which eliminated over 60,000 youth making any apology in public or otherwise for instigating and initiating the problem by proscribing the democratic political parties? 5. We have a very sound stance on our foreign policy and we have communicated it in many occasions. We will ensure that we adopt a balanced approach while maintaining our clear stand on various international matters of concern. We will stand with other international members for justice and to ensure human rights. We will respect international conventions and treaties for which we have been signatories. Unless we put our policies in practice , one might not see the sophistication of those and how we handle global power dynamics. We invite you to be with us to see them happening very soon . Thank you
