I am a retired vegetable breeder with plant breeding qualifications, now working for a private seed company in Sri lanka to develope locally bred vegetable varieties. Most of the goverments were in power including the present one did not give priority to R/D sector of horticulture ( fruits, vegetables and floriculture). May I know the significance given to horticutre sector in your Agriculture policy of and plans to develope R/D requirements of the sector?

Thank you for your question. Can you contact Dr Jayarathne on 0773222405 to get more details about your proposal? Regards

Dear NPP Education Committee, I am writing to express my interest in joining the Education Committee of the National People's Power (NPP). With over 30 years of experience in the education sector, working with various International Non-Government Organizations (INGOs), I have dedicated my career to aligning educational programs with the Ministry of Education's (MoE) initiatives. My longstanding collaboration with the MoE and the National Institute of Education (NIE) has been instrumental in enhancing the quality and relevance of our educational programmes. As a proud alumnus of the University of Peradeniya, I have done lot for Sri Lankan education sector at strategic development and implementation process. Despite facing challenges, including an arrest during the Rohana Padmasiri incident-1984, my support for the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and the NPP has remained steadfast. I believe my diverse experiences, including my roots in Galgamuwa-Kurunegala and my current residence in Kandy, provide me with a unique perspective that will be valuable to the committee. While my organization's policies preclude me from frontline roles, I am confident that my contributions to the Education Committee can be significant and impactful. I seek your guidance on how to become an active and contributing member of the committee. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss how I can contribute to the NPP's educational objectives. Thanking You Kamal Herath

Thank you for your inquiry . Once we win the election, the departments under ministries will come under respective Secretaries. Whatever the department that comes under a ministry will perform to fulfill the best interest of the people . You will see no political intervention and the efficiency of each department will be ensured. Zero Tolerance to corruption and bribery . Digitalization of services will be our key approach and the service delivery will happen according to the best practices. Anything else you can write to us. Regards

As a concerned citizen and aspiring entrepreneur, I’ve noticed that the current process for registering even a sole proprietorship in Sri Lanka is cumbersome and outdated. The requirement to physically visit provincial councils, obtain physical forms, and provide unnecessary documentation seems inefficient, especially in the digital age. Why can't I just go to a government website and pay a fee and register the damn thing within several hours?! (It’s easier to register a business in Delaware than here in my own country.) My question is: If the NPP comes into power, what specific steps will you take to modernize and streamline the business registration process? How do you plan to leverage technology to make it more accessible, efficient, and corruption-resistant?

Thank you for your inquiry. In an NPP government , there will be a digital platform like in the UK GOV.UK that will enable customers to have access to government services without much hazel. Thanks
