A press conference was held this morning (13th) at the headquarters of the National People’s Power, with the participation of its leader, Anura Kumara Dissanayake. During the conference, Dissanayake stated that he and his team are committed to standing against the existing ugly and corrupt political culture. He further expressed that the NPP has a capable and honest team that is accepted in the villages and can serve the country. He also mentioned that the NPP has already released several policy statements and that the NPP has reached more than 50% of households in Sri Lanka.

A meeting between Takafumi Kadono, the Asian Development Bank representative for Sri Lanka, and Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the NPP, took place this afternoon (12th) at the JVP Headquarters.
The representative presented a review of the development activities being carried out by the Asian Development Bank in Sri Lanka and discussed the organization’s readiness to continue assisting Sri Lanka in the future.
Bimal Rathnayake, a member of the National Executive Committee of the National People’s Power, also participated in this event.

A meeting between Dr. Zuhair Zaid, the Palestinian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, and Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the National People’s Power, took place this afternoon (12th) at the JVP Headquarters.
The Ambassador, who announced that his term of service was ending and that he would be returning to his country, expressed his gratitude for the support extended in raising a voice against the inhumane killings currently happening in Gaza, Palestine, and for the solidarity shown towards Palestine.

A large number of Muslims gathered at a rally held tonight (08) in the Malwana area of the Biyagama Constituency. The rally, titled “A Gathering of the Muslim Brotherhood,” is further evidence that Muslims are rallying around Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the leader of the National People’s Power, as previously seen in Kinniya, Muttur, Eravur, and other areas.
Addressing the audience, the leader of the National People’s Power, Mr Anura Kumara Dissanayake, stated that the politics of opportunism—jumping from one party to another for personal gain, money, and ministerial positions—must come to an end.
Muneer Mulaffar Maulavi, a national executive committee member of the National People’s Power, also spoke at the event, emphasizing that a victory for Anura is not merely a choice but a responsibility.
Dr. Ashoka Ranwala, the Gampaha District Executive Committee member of the National People’s Power, also participated and, in his address to the audience, emphasized that there is no place for dividing people based on religion or nationality.

Dr Harini Amarasuriya, National Executive Committee Member of the National People’s Power and Member of Parliament, emphasized that the people of this country can no longer be deceived. She made this statement while addressing the press conference held this morning (08) at the headquarters of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna in Pelawatta, Battaramulla.
Saroja Savithri Paulraj, National Executive Committee Member of the NPP, Samanmali Gunasinghe, National Executive Committee Member of the NPP, and Prabashini Wickramasinghe, Executive Committee Member of the Women for Rights organization, also participated in this event.
Speaking at the press conference, Saroja Savithri Paulraj highlighted that members of Parliament who do not represent the people are currently looking for ways to cling on to power. Furthermore, Samanmali Gunasinghe stressed that this election feels more significant than ever because it marks the beginning of a new renaissance era.
