එම නිසා පොහොර නොගෙන්වා ගොවියාට කෘෂිකර්මාන්තයෙන් ඉවත් කිරීමට කරන සැලසුම හකුළා රටේ කෘෂිකර්මාන්තය ගොඩනැඟීමට කටයුතු කරන ලෙසත් ආණ්ඩුවට දැනුම් දෙන බවත් කීවාය.

“The people of the country have not taken from President Gotabaya Rajapaksa the right to express their views and independent political opinion. It is a right conferred by the Constitution. This right has been confirmed by a number of Supreme Court decisions. This is a right enjoyed by the Pohottu camp while they were in the Opposition. They are trying to portray Teachers’ union leaders in particular as Taliban leaders. The Minister of Police is stating that if the police make a mistake he will intervene and get them off the hook. Those who are agitating against the sale of the Colombo Port jetty and those who are agitating to protect the rights of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation are working to protect the resources of the motherland. Minister Sarath Weerasekara states that the police will be deployed against them. Heads of government shoot with words before shooting with guns. Only then will the guns be brought. Minister Sarath Weerasekara is making various war-frenzied statements in this regard.”

GSP + and the removal of emergency law

“At present, the government is creating an anti-democratic situation. For that, a Prabaharan or a Saharan is needed. A Cyril Mathew is wanted as opposed to that. Therefore, we emphasize to the government that this country did not win through the role of Cyril Mathew. These people are working to brand those who speak out against racism and religious bigotry. Meanwhile, it was said that the state of emergency would be imposed to control the prices of essential commodities. However, the emergency law did not reduce the price of rice. Their failed performance persists and in the meantime, a team from European Union came to Sri Lanka to investigate the granting of the GSP Plus concession. Because of this, the proposal to extend the state of emergency was not tabled in Parliament. Meanwhile, G.L. Minister Peiris speaks in English in Parliament to meet the demands of the European Union. But in the meantime Minister Sarath Weerasekera speaks in Sinhala about shooting protesters. However, Minister G.L. Peiris knows that all embassies in Sri Lanka work in Sinhala and Tamil. Although the government is trying to get tax relief from the European Union, its real intention is to promote racism and religious bigotry. At present all Sinhalese, Tamils ​​and Muslims in Sri Lanka have to go to the international arena to secure their rights. As a result, foreign countries are automatically given a path to interfere in our country.”

What action will the President take against Nirupama Rajapaksa?

“Currently the government is sending CID teams to the homes of even relatives of prominent activists of the National People’s Power. Also, absurd allegations are being made. Several representatives of the Frontline Socialist Party have been detained for more than 60 days. Even Kovid was infected while they were in prison. They are imprisoned under the Public Property Act, but what action has been taken by the President against Nirupama Rajapaksa. The Pandora group questions whether Nirupama Rajapaksa disclosed her companies in her declaration of assets and liabilities as a Member of Parliament. Also, it has been questioned whether Nirupama Rajapaksa had reported on obtaining government contracts from companies where she was a director while she was serving as a Minister. We know that many MPs and ministers do business illegally. There is a question as to where the undisclosed assets of Rs. 35 billion were earned. However, what action has been taken by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in this regard. No law is enforced against government MPs and ministers for plundering public property and violating order. We have serious doubts regarding the Money Laundering Act passed recently. The Pandora leaflets were revealed on the third but working on it was a big process. Two or three months ago, question papers on fraud and corruption were submitted to the persons involved. Therefore, the people concerned knew that this information would be revealed soon. We have a reasonable doubt as to whether the Money Laundering Act was passed before that. Therefore, we urge the people to be more aware of those who are working to protect national resources and those who are fighting to protect their trade union rights. I urge everyone to join hands with these people to protect national resources and protect public rights.”

Answering questions raised by journalists…

“Pandora has questioned what happened to the Sri Lankan police’s investigation into a $ 12 million fraud case against Nirupama Rajapaksa’s husband. It has been a little over a year since the government came to power after the appointment of the President. During this period, the cases against all those accused of fraud and corruption were withdrawn. They were not acquitted by the court. There are withdrawals with the intervention of the Attorney General. The same goes for the President. After being sworn in at the Ruwanweli Seya, Ali Sabri who acted as his lawyer – he was not in Parliament at the time – withdrew from the courts the allegations of Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s misappropriation of public funds.
Will such a person refer the Pandora revelations to the Bribery Commission’s investigations? The same is true of baby elephants. 14 elephants were released and an elephant belonging to N.G. Rajapaksa too has been released. Will these people investigate fraud and corruption?

The online method is not successful at all. Therefore, schools should be started under proper arrangements. The advice of a medical professional must be followed. No teachers’ union in Sri Lanka is on strike. Teachers who volunteered to teach online dropped out. Others voluntarily carried out preparing assignments and teaching. Ministers who do not know the value of the teaching profession insulted them andcaused the discontinuation of online teaching. The issue of teachers is not a matter of the parties. A fair struggle. Even today they are protesting with black flags all over the country. Even when schools start, I think they will continue the struggle while they proceed with teaching. 

Getting the vaccine is our right. We have emphasized whenever possible to get it. But some people do not want to get it at all. Some people do not get vaccinated due to the pseudoscience launched by the government and the media as well as the views launched by a group of far-right political ideologies. This is another consequence of the lack of scientific education among the people.”

“A group of people have been charged with involvement in the Easter attack. But some questions are coming from those who speak out about this. The two main questions are whether the lawsuits were filed for those who were involved in the Easter attack or for those who planned it and that none of the suspicious information stated by presidential commissions and investigative teams appointed by the government in power has been investigated. In this situation, the victims have a reasonable doubt as to who is behind the Easter attack. There are even attempts to link those who express their views in this regard to LTTE groups. Catholic priests are also being labelled for demanding justice. There is an opinion that they are preparing to launch an attack against the government. The groups that were used to bring the government to power are being used for this. But we emphasize to the people of this country that there is no hidden agenda for all the people who demand justice for the Easter attack. If anyone who calls for justice is labelled a terrorist or a racist, that is a serious situation. ”

People’s rights, justice, and fairness

“We demand the government to carry out the relevant investigations and identify the culprits behind this and enforce the law. In 2019, a large number of Sri Lankans abroad protested in those countries that the country was going to be betrayed to foreigners and that racism was being sown. Those same people are protesting demanding justice today. Are they terrorists? The National People’s Power joins all those who work for justice. The National People’s Power stands for the rights of the people, justice and fairness of the people of this country. We look forward to working with them.”

Statements of racist and religious divisions have made a comeback.

“It is important to express the views of the National People’s Power at a time when a racist political approach is re-emerging. Minister Prof. GL Peiris delivered a very eloquent speech in English on the 4th in Parliament. He spoke about the diverse society in Sri Lanka and the building of a national identity upon it. He called on civil society to work together with the government to achieve peace and reconciliation. But we had a question as to who was addressing this speech. There was also the question of which party he was representing. This is because the government and the various parties it represents are once again making statements of racist and religious divisions. Everyone who has been in power throughout history used racism for power. The current government is a project that used racism very strongly to come to power. They used the social unrest caused by the Easter attack for their power project. Various groups were working to make it a success.”

Cardinal’s intervention

“After the Easter attack, the cardinal intervened to bring about reconciliation in the community. We all appreciate those actions. He acted from the standpoint that justice should be done to the victims. This time again when the Cardinal and others speak for justice we see how they are being subjected to despicable attacks. People who have been silent for a while are coming back to the fore and attacking the Catholic community as well as the Muslim community. We saw how the CID intervened very quickly when making any statement about the Easter attack or criticizing the government. We saw how it intervened very quickly. But the people who make the most controversial statements in the public media are not being investigated. Minister Sarath Weerasekara has stated that the struggle of teachers – which has nothing to do with racism or the Easter attack – will be given the same response as for the terrorists. The Minister has stated that he will stand up for the relevant police officers even if the teachers who don’t obey police orders are shot in the head instead of below the knee.”

Let’s all come together to face the real issues

“We are well aware that racist statements are expressed by the government to hunt down those who criticize it. At this time the government is facing many serious questions and no answers. The government has been losing the approval of the people speedily on issues such as basic problems of the people, international relations and the economy. In this context, it is very clear that the government has started the old game. We hope that the people will not fall prey to the racist ugly game of the government at this time. Also, as the National People’s Power, we condemn such despicable acts. We are building a dialogue with the people to put an end to the spread of racism for power projects that have been happening throughout history. It is the people who can do it. We urge you to act with the utmost understanding of the motives behind this. At a moment when the country is facing a lot of problems, the people should unite instead of divide. Those who work to divide us racially are very united. Therefore, we invite all to come together to face the real issues in this country. ”

The revelations from the Pandora Papers are riveting the world and have shaken up political and economic elites everywhere. Scrupulous and painstaking examination of thousands of documents by committed journalists have revealed to the world, the extent of hidden wealth stashed in offshore tax havens around the world. 

Sri Lankans also feature in the revelations – Nirupama Rajapaksa and Thiru Kumar Nadesan, close relatives to the ruling Rajapaksa clan. Some Media reports have been suggesting that those are not the only Sri Lankan names revealed in the Pandora Papers – simply that they received more prominence because Nirupama Rajapaksa is a former parliamentarian. 

Writing to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Thiru Kumar Nadesan has professed innocence – or denied any wrongdoing and has called for an investigation, even graciously suggesting that a ‘retired Judge’ should be appointed to conduct the investigation. He has just stopped short of naming who that should be! Well, we all know what commissions of investigation will do. 

This country has probably earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, for the sheer quantity of utterly useless commissions that have been appointed to investigate the many crimes committed by the powerful in this country. Although the alleged crimes committed by the economic and political elite of this country are manifold – not a single person has been held accountable for their actions. 

At best, a few scapegoats might have been prosecuted – but the big fish have got away scot free. Leave that as it may, the bigger question here is that very few named in the Pandora Papers will be found to have broken the law. Basically, what investigations of these leaked documents show is how the global elite amass money through embezzlement, bribes, commissions, money laundering, cronyism and then hide their wealth using laws that they themselves have helped create. 

The Pandora Papers are not the first (and unlikely to be the last) of such revelations. There were the Panama Papers before that. Also the leaks from HSBC, the Paradise Papers and so on. All of these revealed a shocking network of dodgy financial dealings linking global political and economic elites. But these revelations have led to very few investigations, prosecutions or reforms of the law. 

The point is that amassing wealth – by any means – and avoiding taxes are not antithetical to capitalism. Capitalism has a legacy of plunder and exploitation – we only need remind ourselves of how empires flourished by extracting resources from their colonies or how slavery supported the generation of wealth in many countries. 

Today, while we reject such forms of extraction and wealth creation – we have developed far more sophisticated strategies to achieve pretty much the same results. All over the world there are close relationships between the political and economic elite resulting in weak regulation and ensuring that little progress is made with regard to investigations and prosecutions, leaving large holes for avoiding taxes. 

Politicians are either in the pay of these economic elites and/or directly involved. In fact, what the Pandora Papers and other similar leaks have revealed are how there is little to distinguish between political and economic elites. In such a context, what chance is there for meaningful reform efforts? The case of Nirupama Rajapaksa and Thiru Kumar Nadesan are classic examples of the way this works. And it is not simply, that the couple is closely related to the Rajapaksa family. 

Their networks and alliances extend beyond the Rajapaksa family, to a tight circle that is highly protective of each other. Take for instance, the recent ‘Finance Bill’ presented to and passed in Parliament, coincidentally not long before the Pandora Paper revelations. It essentially provides a legal framework for money laundering. It provides an amnesty for those who have hidden wealth to gain legitimacy and amass further wealth. 

As a member of COPA in Parliament, I continue to be amazed at the regular reports provided by the Auditor General revealing the amount of tax evasion in this country by large, reputed companies. Recently, Dr. Tissa Vitarana when reporting on COPA to Parliament, stated that unrecovered tax revenue amounts to Rs 290 billion. 

This, remember is simply lost revenue from declared incomes. Yet, apart from a mild knock on the knuckles, I have learned that under the current legal framework, there is very little that COPA can do, to resolve these issues. How has tax evasion become an acceptable practice? How is it morally defensible to do so? We know that currently, globally, wealth generation is on the increase. But the other side of the coin is that income inequality is also on the increase. Yes, on average, lives have improved across the board. 

One needs only to compare the lives of rural Sri Lanka in the 1970s and now, and there is a notable improvement in the material lives of most people. Hidden beneath that exterior is however, indebtedness and precariousness. Lives are lived on the edge; people are working harder for longer hours to sustain themselves. At the other end of the scale is luxury and splendour on a global scale. As children, writing the inevitable essay on ‘How I spent my holidays’ in school at the beginning of a new term, a family trip to Nuwara Eliya was considered the height of excitement. 

Today, children write blithely about trips to Disneyland in the US, skiing vacations in the Swiss Alps and at the very least a shopping trip to Singapore and Malaysia. This is the same country, where school closure has meant that some children are deprived of a nutritious meal. 

How do we defend this level of inequality? How thick should our skins be, for this degree of inequality to be acceptable? This is not an issue that will be resolved by charitable impulses – many of the companies defaulting on tax payment engage in ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ initiatives. This requires an overhaul of the system, where as much as income generation, redistribution of income become part of economic policy. 

A proper taxation system and closing the loopholes for tax default and avoidance has to be a major part of this policy. At the same time, there is a perception that tax avoidance is defensible, because, public money is wasted. There is some justice to this – a Government that is highly corrupt cannot expect law-abiding or socially responsible actions from citizens. As citizens, we then resort to finding private solutions rather than common solutions and in such a context, paying taxes seems a waste. Yet, that is precisely what needs to change. 

The cycle of corruption is not simply in Government; it is also maintained by an economic elite who benefit from Government patronage. It is this cycle that must be disrupted in the interests of the wider public. This idea of collective good, the larger picture – the pursuit of goals that are based less on pure and undiluted self-interest, but the larger good requires a moral shift in our thinking. 

Surely, the last one-anda-half years taught us the value of shared responsibility and cooperation; the importance of collective responses especially at times of crisis. The shift that society so desperately needs, towards a more cooperative and responsible system of governance starts with a shift in perception from within all of us.

நாட்டுமக்கள் தமது சுயாதீனமான அரசியல் கருத்துக்களை தெரிவிப்பதையும் ஆர்ப்பாட்டங்களை மேற்கொள்வதற்கான உரிமையையும்  சனாதிபதி கோட்டாபய ராஜபக்ஷவிடமிருந்து பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை. இது  அரசியலமைப்பினால் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ள உரிமையாகும். அது இந்த உரிமை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தினால் பல்வேறு வழக்குத் தீர்ப்புகள் மூலமாக  உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. மொட்டுக்கட்சியில் இருப்பவர்களும்  எதிர்க்கட்சியில் இருந்த காலத்தில் அனுபவித்த உரிமையாகும். குறிப்பாக ஆசிரியர் சங்கங்களின் தலைவர்களை தலேபான் தலைவர்களைப்போல காட்ட முனைகிறார்கள். எனினும் பொலிஸ் அமைச்சர் பொலீசார் தவறு புரிந்தாலும்  அவர் தலையிட்டு காப்பாற்றிக் கொள்வதற்காக செயலாற்றுவார். கொழும்புத் துறைமுகத்தின் முனையத்தை விற்பனை செய்வதற்கு எதிராக ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் செய்பவர்கள்,  பெற்றோலியக் கூட்டுத்தாபனத்தின் உரிமையைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் செய்பவர்கள் தாய்நாட்டின் வளங்களை பாதுகாப்பதற்காக செயலாற்றி வருகிறார்கள்.  அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக பொலீசாரை ஈடுபடுத்துவதாக அமைச்சர் சரத் வீரசேகர கூறுகிறார். அரசாங்கத்தின் பிரதானிகளால் துப்பாக்கியால் சுடுவதற்கு முன்னராக  வார்த்தைகளால் சுடுகிறார்கள். அதன் பின்னர்தான் துப்பாக்கிகளைக் கொண்டு வருகிறார்கள். இதற்காக அமைச்சர் சரத் வீரசேகர யுத்த உன்மத்தநிலையினால் பீடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளவகையிலான கூற்றுக்களை வெளியிட்டு வருகிறார். 

இன்றளவில சனநாயக விரோத நிலைமையொன்று அரசாங்கத்தினால் கட்டியெழுப்பப்பட்டு வருகின்றது.  அதற்காக ஒரு பிரபாகரன், ஒரு சஹரான் தேவைப்படுகிறார். அதற்கு எதிராக மறுபுறத்தில் சிறில் மத்தியு ஒருவர் தேவைப்படுகிறார்.  அதனால்  சிறில் மத்தியுவின் வகிபாகங்களால் இந்த நாடு வெற்றிகொள்ளப்படவில்லை என்பதை நாங்கள் அரசாங்கத்திற்கு வலியுறுத்துகிறோம். இனவாதத்திற்கும் மதவாதத்திற்கும் எதிராக அபிப்பிராயம் தெரிவிப்பவர்களுக்கு களங்கம் கற்பிக்க இவர்கள் செயலாற்றி வருகிறார்கள்.  அதேவேளையில் அவசரகாலச் சட்டத்தை விதித்து அத்தியாவசிய பண்டங்களின் விலையை கட்டுப்படுத்துவதாக கூறினார்கள்.  ஆனால் அவசரகாலச் சட்டத்தினால் அரசியின் விலை குறைக்கப்படவில்லை.   அவர்களின் தோல்விகண்ட செயற்பாடுகள் நிலவுவதோடு ஜீ்.எஸ்.பி. பிளஸ்  சலுகையை வழங்குதல் சம்பந்தமாக  விசாரணைகளை மேற்கொள்வதற்கான ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றியத்தின் குழுவொன்று இலங்கைக்கு வருகைதந்தது.  அதனால் அவசரகாலச் சட்டத்தை நீடிப்பதற்கான பிரேரணை பாராளுமன்றத்தில் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்படவில்லை, அதேவேளையில் அமைச்சர் ஜீ். எல். பீரிஸ்  பாராளுமன்றத்தில் ஆங்கிலமொழியில் ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றியத்திற்கு அவசியமான அபிப்பிராயங்களை தெரிவிக்கிறார். ஆனால் அதேவேளையில் அமைச்சர் சரத் வீரசேகர சிங்கள மொழியில்  ஆர்ப்பாட்டக்காரர்கள்மீது துப்பாக்கிப் பிரயோகம் செய்வதைப் பற்றிப் பேசுகிறார்.  ஆனால் இலங்கையில் அனைத்து தூதரகங்கிளிலும் சிங்களம் மற்றும் தமிழ் ஆகிய இரண்டு மொழிகளிலும் வேலை செய்கிறார்கள் என்பதை அமைச்சர் ஜீ்எல்.பீரிஸ் அறிவார்.  ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றியத்தினால் வழங்கப்படுகின்ற வரிச்சலுகைகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ள  அரசாங்கம் முயற்சிசெய்தபோதிலும் அவர்களின் உண்மையான தேவை இனவாதத்தையும் மதவாததத்தையும் முன்னெடுத்துச் செல்வதாகும். இன்றளவில் இலங்கையில் சிங்கள, தமிழ், முஸ்லிம்  மக்கள் அனைவரும் தமது நியாயமான உரிமைகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதற்காக சர்வதேசத்திற்குச் செல்லவேண்டிய நிலையேற்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் எமது நாட்டில் தலையிட வெளிநாடுகளுக்கு தானாகவே வழிசமைக்கப்படுகின்றது. 

 இன்றளவில் அரசாங்கம் தேசிய மக்கள் சக்தியின் பிரபல்யமான  செயற்பாட்டாளர்களின்  உறவினர்களின் வீடுகளுக்கு  சீ.ஐ.டீ. குழுக்களை அனுப்பிவைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றது. அதைப்போலவே பொய்யான குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை முன்வைத்து வருகின்றது.  முன்னிலை சோஷலிஸக் கட்சியின் பல பிரதிநிதிகளை 60 நாட்களுக்கு மேலாக சிறைவைத்துள்ளார்கள். சிறையில் இருக்கும்போது அவர்களுக்கு கொவிட்கூட  தொற்றி உள்ளது. பொது ஆதனங்கள் சட்டத்தின்கீழ் அவர்கள் சிறைவைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் நிரூபமா ராஜபக்ஷ சம்பந்தமாக சனாதிபதி மேற்கொள்ளப்போகின்ற நடவடிக்கை என்னவென நாங்கள் கேட்க விரும்புகிறோம். நிரூபமா ராஜபக்ஷ பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினராக சொத்துக்கள் பொறுப்புக்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துகையில் அவருடைய கம்பெனிகள் பற்றி வெளிப்படுத்தினாரா என பென்டோரா குழு கேட்கின்றது. அதைப்போலவே அமைச்சராக இருந்தவேளையில் நிரூபமா ராஜபக்ஷ  பணிப்பாளர் பதவிவகித்த கம்பெனிகளில் அரசாங்கத்தின் ஒப்பந்தவேலைகளை பெற்றுக்கொண்டமை பற்றி அறிவித்தாரா என கேள்வி எழுப்பப்பட்டுள்ளது. பல அமைச்சர்கள் கள்ளத்தனமாக பிஸ்னஸ் பண்ணுகிறார்கள் என்பது எமக்குத் தெரியும். 3500 கோடி ரூபாவுக்கு அண்மித்த வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டிராத சொத்துக்கள் எங்கிருந்து ஈட்டப்பட்டன  எனும் கேள்வியும் நிலவுகின்றது. ஆனால் கோட்டாபய ராஜபக்ஷ சனாதிபதி அது சம்பந்தமாக மேற்கொண்டுள்ள நடவடிக்கைகள் பற்றி நாங்கள் கேள்வி கேட்கிறோம். இந்த நாட்டில் பொதுப்பணத்தைக் கொள்ளையடித்தல், ஒழுக்கமீறல் செயல்களைப்புரிதல்  சம்பந்தமாக அரசாங்கத்தின் அமைச்சர்கள் பிரமுகர்களுக்கு எதிராக எந்தவிதமான சட்டமும் அமுலாக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

கடந்த நாட்களில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட கறுப்புப் பணத்தை வெளிளையாக்குகின்ற சட்டம் சம்பந்தமாக எங்களுக்கு பாரிய சந்தேகம் தோன்றுகின்றது. பென்டோரா ஆவணங்கள் பற்றி மூன்றாந் திகதியே வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டாலும்  அது சம்பந்தமாக செயலாற்றுவது பாரிய செயற்பாங்காகும். இதனோடு சம்பந்தப்பட்ட ஆட்களிடமிருந்து இற்றைக்கு இரண்டு – மூன்று மாதங்களுக்கு முன்னர் ஊழல் – மோசடிகள் பற்றிய வினாத்தாளொன்று முன்வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.  அதனால் வெகுவிரைவில் இந்த தகவல்கள் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுமென்பதை இந்த ஆட்கள் அறிந்திருந்தார்கள். அதற்கு முன்னராக கறுப்புப் பணத்தை வெள்ளையாக்குகின்ற சட்டம்  அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டதா எனும் நியாயமான சந்தேகம் எம்மிடம் நிலவுகின்றது. இதனால் தேசிய வளங்களைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக செயலாற்றுகின்றவர்கள், தமது தொழில்சார் உரிமைகளை பாதுகாப்பற்காக போராடுகின்றவர்கள் சம்பந்தமாக மக்கள் மிகுந்த விழிப்புடன் இருக்கவேண்டுமென நாங்கள்  மக்களிடம் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம். இவர்களுடன் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து தேசிய வளங்களைப் பாதுகாத்துக்கொள்வதற்காக அணிதிரளுமாறு அனைவரிடமும் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.

ஊடகவியலாளர்கள் எழுப்பிய கேள்விகளுக்கு பதிலளிக்கையில்…..

திருமதி நிரூபமா ராஜபக்ஷவின் கணவர் சம்பந்தமாக 12 மில்லியன் டொலர் மோசடி பற்றி இலங்கை பொலீசார் மேற்கொண்ட  விசாரணைகளுக்கு நேர்ந்த கதி என்னவென பென்டோரா கேள்வி எழுப்பி உள்ளது. சனாதிபதி நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பின்னர் அரசாங்த்திற்கு  ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு சற்று மேலாக காலம் கழிந்துள்ளது. இந்த காலப்பகுதியில் ஊழல் – மோசடி சம்பந்தமாக குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் முன்வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த அனைவர் தொடர்பாகவும் விசாரிக்கப்பட்டுவந்த வழக்குகள் வாபஸ்பெறப்பட்டன. அவர்கள் நீதிமன்றத்தினால் குற்றமற்றவர்களென விடுதலை செய்யப்படவில்லை. சட்டத்துறை தலைமை அதிபதி இடையீடுசெய்தே வாபஸ்பெற்றுள்ளார். சனாதிபதியும் அப்படித்தான். றுவண்வெலிசேயவிற்கு அருகில் உறுதிமொழி பகன்றபின்னர்  அவரது சட்டத்தரணியாக செயலாற்றிய அலி சப்றி அவர்கள் – அப்போது அவர் பாராளுமன்றத்தில் இருக்கவில்லை –  கோட்டாபய ராஜபக்ஷவின் பொதுப்பண முறைகேடான பாவனை தொட்ர்பாக நிதிமன்றத்தில் நிலவிய குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை அகற்றிக்கொண்டார்.  அப்படிப்பட்ட ஒருவர் பென்டோரா வெளிக்கொணர்வுகள் பற்றி  இலஞ்ச ஆணைக்குழுவின் புலனாய்வுகளுக்கு ஆற்றுப்படுத்துவாரா? அதைப்போலவே யானைக் குட்டிகளின் சம்பவத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டாலும் அது தெளிவாகின்றது. 14 யானைகளை விடுதலைசெய்கின்ற வேளையில் என்.ஜீ. ராஜபக்ஷவின் யானையொன்றையும் தொடர்புபடுத்திக்கொண்டு விடுதலை செய்துள்ளார்கள். இவர்கள் ஊழல் – மோசடிகள் பற்றி விசாரணைகளை மேற்கொள்வார்களா?   

ஒன்லயின் வழிமுறை எப்படியும் வெற்றிகரமானதல்ல. எனவே முறையான ஏற்பாடுகளுக்கு கட்டுப்பட்டதாக  பாடசாலைகளை ஆரம்பிக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது. மருத்துவ நிபுணர்களின் அறிவுறுத்தல்களுக்கு அமைவாக செயலாற்ற வேண்டும். இலங்கையில் எந்தவொரு ஆசிரியர் சங்கமும் வேலைநிறுத்தத்தில் இல்லை. தன்னிச்சையாக ஒன்லயின்  கற்பித்தலில் ஈடபட்ட ஆசிரியர்கள் அதிலிருந்து நீங்கினார்கள். அதைப்போலவே மேலுமொரு குழுவினர் தன்னிச்சையாகவே முன்வந்து ஒப்படைகளைத் தயாரித்து கற்பித்தல் நடவடிக்கைகளில் ஈடுபட்டு வந்தார்கள்.  ஆசிரியத் தொழிலின் பெறுமதியை அறியாத  ஆசிரியர்களை அவமதித்து ஒன்லயின் கற்பித்தலை நிறுத்தினார்கள். ஆசிரியர்களின் பிரச்சினை கட்சிகளுடன் தொடர்புடையதல்ல. நியாயமான போராட்டமாகும். இன்றும் அவர்கள் நாடு பூராவிலும் கறுப்புக்கொடி ஏந்தி எதிர்ப்பு காட்டுகிறார்கள். பாடசாலைகளை தொடங்கினாலும் அவர்கள் கற்பித்தலை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்ற அதேவேளையில்   தொழில்சார் போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டு வருவார்களென நினைக்கிறோம்.  தடுப்பூசிகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வது எமது உரிமையாகும். அதனைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுமாறு நாங்கள் இயலுமான எல்லா சந்தர்ப்பங்களிலும் வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளோம். ஆனால் ஒருசிலர் அதனை ஏற்றிக்கொள்ள எவ்விதத்திலும் விரும்பவில்லை. அரசாங்கமும் ஊடக நிறுவனங்களும் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து  அமுலாக்கிய புனைகதைகள் மற்றும் எமது நாட்டின் தீவிர வலதுசாரி அரசியல் கருத்துக்களை வகிப்பவர்கள் பரப்பிய அபிப்பிராயம் காரணமாக தடுப்பூசிகளை ஏற்றிக்கொள்ளாத பிரிவினர் இருக்கிறார்கள். மக்கள் விஞ்ஞானரீதியான கல்வியின்றி இருக்கின்றமை சம்பந்தமாக எங்களுக்கு காணக்கிடைக்கின்ற   மற்றுமொரு பெறுபேறுதான் இது.
